Leadership is a crucial aspect of any organization

Leadership is a crucial aspect of any organization, and effective leaders are essential to success. However, the traditional model of leadership, where power is concentrated at the top, may not be the best approach. Simon Sinek's book, Leaders Eat Last, introduces the concept of distributed leadership, where power is shared throughout the organization.

According to Sinek, when a leader hoards power and expertise, the organization becomes overly reliant on that individual. This creates a vulnerable situation for the organization if the leader were to leave or become incapacitated. In contrast, a leader who distributes power and knowledge throughout the team ensures that the organization can continue to function effectively, even if a key member departs.

In a distributed leadership model, a leader invests time and effort in training and building up their team members, empowering them to take charge of situations and make decisions. This approach creates a more resilient organization, with team members who are capable and confident in their roles.

Distributed leadership is also beneficial for promoting innovation and creativity within an organization. When team members are encouraged to contribute their ideas and take ownership of projects, they feel more invested in the organization's success. This approach can lead to new and innovative solutions to problems that may have been overlooked in a traditional leadership model.

Of course, distributed leadership does not mean that there is no leader at the top. Instead, it means that the leader empowers their team members and encourages them to take on leadership roles themselves. This approach not only benefits the organization but also helps team members to develop valuable leadership skills and experience.

In conclusion, distributed leadership is a concept that challenges the traditional model of leadership, where power is concentrated at the top. By distributing power and knowledge throughout the organization, leaders create a more resilient, innovative, and effective team. What are your thoughts on this concept? Do you think distributed leadership could benefit your organization?

Our dreams give us purpose and drive

Our dreams give us purpose and drive. They are what motivate us to pursue a certain career path and work hard to achieve our goals. However, as we face the realities of life, it's easy to become bogged down in the day-to-day activities of our jobs and forget why we started in the first place.

When we feel stuck and are not making progress towards our goals, it's important to remember that doing the same thing over and over again will not yield different results. It's time to take action and make a change.

We must start by identifying what we truly want and taking bold steps towards our dreams. This may mean learning a new skill, taking a different approach to our work, or making a career change altogether.

It's important to remember that change takes time and effort, but with persistence and dedication, we can achieve the success we desire. As we take action towards our dreams, we will see our lives transform before our very eyes.

So let's commit to taking bold steps towards our dreams today. Let's stay focused and motivated, and watch as our hard work and dedication pay off in the end. Our dreams are within reach, and it's up to us to make them a reality.

Watch you negative Thoughts

This is a beautiful message that I captured from #Ray Higdon podcast that I am sharing below.

Your negative thoughts are dictating what choices you see!

Because if you remain in agitation, you will see fewer choices.

Instead catch those thoughts and set new intentions,

and all of a sudden you will see new more choices and opportunities open up for you.

I need Likes on my Posts & Pages!

So you have a business and you've setup a Facebook page and you want to grow that page. And in the hunt to have more likes you send mass invites to your friends list and invite them to like your page.

Most people are unaware that this could be hurting more than helping them? What!!!
So you hit the invite button and sent out unsolicited invites to your Facebook friends, and suppose they liked it. What have you accomplished? Absolutely Nothing!
These people went and clicked on the page because you suggested it. Chances are they will never become your customer. What have you accomplished? Absolutely nothing!
So now you may have got a thousands of likes to your page, but how many of those are going to become actively engaged with your business? Probably None.
In the social marketing arena these activities are considered as good as fraud or SPAM.
Social media sites like Google and Facebook strive to limit the spread of spam because they don't want to allow content that is designed to deceive or mislead users to increase viewership. Such activities create a negative user experience and detracts from peoples ability to engage authentically.
Facebook have developed their algorithms in such a way that they predict which post might create more interaction with your friends and show these posts higher in their feed. These are the posts that inspire back and forth discussion in the comments and posts that might likely be shared.
The internet is full of noise, don't be just another voice vying customer attention. You'll fail.
Instead offer something of value . Create content that is share worthy and engaging and will help your clients in more productive ways.
If you make post that people share, they are talking about it, Facebook shows it to more people. Why? Because they want engagement.
Your clients and audience requires the best, so stop flooding their news feed with the outdated way of thinking.
FOCUS ON CREATING CONTENT THAT WILL CONVERT VIEWERS INTO CUSTOMERS.

WHAT YOU SAY NEXT IS GOING TO CHANGE YOUR WORLD

This quick learning has been inspired by the reading from a book on communication skills by late Marshall Rosenberg.

Communication is a process of exchange of words in a way that excludes Judgement, blame and violence.
Effective communication is not about what we talk, but its about how we express ourselves what we feel, what the other person hears, feels and interprets what we have said!
WHAT YOU SAY NEXT IS GOING TO CHANGE YOUR WORLD
Whenever in a meeting or a discussion when we want our needs to be met, it is important how we communicate effectively what we want and being understood, without offending the other person.
In order for our needs to be met when in a discussion, we need to incorporate a few steps in the process of how we communicate effectively.
This is possible when we are consciously observing what is actually happening in the situation what others are saying or doing, analyse the information what we have observed, and then express our feeling about out observation of the situation. Feelings play an important role in the process of connecting with the other person on an emotional level. You will never be able to communicate effectively if you have not made that emotional connection with the other person in context. After we have expressed our feelings about the situation we may then express how our need is connected to the feelings we have expressed.
Once we have communicated the 3 aspects of the process of effective communication- observation, feeling & need, we need to follow immediately with our request with what we want the other person to do that would make life better for us. When we follow these 4 steps in the process of effective communication, we will notice how we have been able to meet our needs more effectively.
It may be difficult to begin with, but once you have practiced these skills, you will notice how you have developed as a better communicator and have your needs met effectively without much resistance and resentment from the other person.
So remember, WHAT YOU SAY NEXT IS GOING TO CHANGE YOUR WORLD.

YOU ARE A LEADER

In the past the model of leadership was telling others what to do, "Control the masses" and attain a position of power✨
Leadership isn't Position & Power. It is an influence and is used to help people🤝

Leaders add value to people, encourage & empower them and help them grow and succeed⚡️

When a leader tells you that he sees a leader in you, he knows what he is talking and doing. If he thinks you can, then you can. You should not let yourself and him down‼️

All you need is an aspiration to succeed and an openness to learn and be helped as a leader🤝

Leader answer your questions, shares leadership wisdom & practices and gives you an opportunity to lead🎯

LEADERS don't happen overnight, but nothing worthwhile does✨✨.

Make a Difference!

What is Empathy - ” Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another & feeling with the heart of another.”….. Alfred Adler

Empathy is a very important component of Emotional Intelligence. Have you ever cried when your friend had a bad experience? This is Empathy. It is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feels, see the things from their view point & imagine yourself in their situation. Empathy is putting yourself into someone else’s shoes. It is the ability to understand how exactly others are feeling in a given situation.

To understand other’s emotions & to respond with complementary emotions & to understand other’s perspective is Empathy. Empathy response also depends upon parenting style. According to Mr. Goleman, a famous Psychologist, there are three types of empathy.

·       Cognitive Empathy: It is the ability to understand another person’s perspective.

·       Emotional Empathy: It is the ability to physically feel, what another person feels.

·       Empathy concern: It is the ability to understand what the other person needs from you.

Empathy plays an Important role at workplace. Knowing how to be Empathic can help you to improve communication with others & and to create great relationships, making for the positive workplace. Empathetic leadership means having the ability to understand the needs of others and being aware of their feelings and thoughts, empathy in the workspace is positively related to the job performance. Empathetic leadership can be learned. If given enough time and support, leaders can develop and enhance their empathy skills through coaching, training and mentoring. There are simple ways to improve empathy at workplace.

·       Talk about empathy at workplace to improve its value.

Importance of Personal Development.

Our Personal Development and Self-Esteem impacts all aspects of our life.

Personal development is an ongoing process. In the process, a person learns to identify his or her own skills & strengths by self-reflecting within self. Every person needs to build & develop a healthy self-Esteem and recognise his or her own thoughts & belief system. We need to be able to identify our expectations from ourselves.

The following points are some of the key elements of personal development.

  • Taking full responsibility for your life
  • Knowing yourself and loving yourself first.
  • Taking your own decisions and honouring them.
  • Overcoming perfection and leveling up your self-worth
  • Giving up Guilt & to stop listening to your inner critic.
  • Stopping running away from your problems.
  • Eliminating spending time with the wrong people and creating a positive
  • environment.

Broadly speaking Personal development can be classified into two categories, personal and professional. At the personal level a person’s emotions, conflicts etc. are associated to that individual’s family, friends & relatives. Whereas at a professional level it relates to job satisfaction, job security, conceding with colleagues & compromising our values with that of the management. At both levels a person needs to mitigate the situation in his own unique way.

In personal development, self-efficacy & self-esteem is crucial. Self-efficacy is a person’s trust and self-belief in his or her ability and competence to accomplish a specific goal or a task. Now Self-efficacy could be high or low depending on each individual. Whereas, Self-Esteem is your overall sense of personal value and self-worth. Again self-esteem could be high or low.

How can you improve your Self-Esteem?

  • Eliminate negative self-talk.
  • Accept yourself as you are, recognize and work to your strengths.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others and level up your self-worth.
  • Admit your mistakes and accept rejections with grace.
  • Use criticism as feedback for improvement.

How Can you improve your Self-Efficacy?

  • Develop new skills and make it ongoing practice.
  • Connecting with a mentor, coach or a guide and asking for specific & constructive feedback and working on development.
  • Reinforce your self-belief.
  • Be accountable to your actions and use verbal persuasion from a mentor, coach or a guide.

Acceptance of ourselves and of others is an essential aspect of Personal Development. Don’t compare, nobody is better than you, because you are enough. Be a good learner, learning and making the most from experiences. Learn to say no without feeling guilty. Give up dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Make a difference!
